About Take Five

Take Five's mission is to increase accessibility to internships, apprenticeships, and fellowships for young theatre professionals by providing the information necessary for position consideration and application all in one place. 

Take Five was created by stage manager Delaney Dunster.  She came up with the idea for this website as she found herself scouring the internet for hours on end looking for various theatre internship opportunities while she was in college. This is when she realized how privileged she was to have the ability to spend hours searching through theatre websites. This is something that may not be possible for someone working multiple jobs, someone with a lack of technology resources, etc. For a long time there have been class, racial, and socioeconomic barriers prohibiting some from attaining these internships. The goal of this website is to remove at least one of those barriers. Rather than spending all of one's time combing the far corners of the internet for internship, apprenticeship, and fellowship opportunities, a multitude have been collected here, in one place, so that individuals can spend their time actually applying for the positions.
